Given the dynamic and interdisciplinary nature of energy research, it is important to set infrastructure that serves as a meeting point for knowledge transfer, collaboration and advancement.
The central laboratory model adopted by the program set out to facilitate precisely this – to provide sophisticated tools and promote synergy between research groups (within the university and outside of it) that can be beneficial in influencing research directions and opportunities for cooperation.
At the central laboratories such as the Photovoltaics Laboratory and the Hydrogen Technologies Research Laboratory there has been a marked increase in accessible capabilities which serve not only GTEP members but also other Technion researchers, and scientists from other Israeli universities and industry.
