Main energy field:

Renewable Energy Sources:

Photovoltaics

We study theory for the bulk photogalvanic effect, whereby photocurrents can be generated without external bias. We develop novel approaches to generate bulk photocurrents even in materials that are inversion symmetric by tailoring the light source properties, and connect photocurrent signals to intrinsic material properties.

Photocatalysis

We are interested in applying advanced theoretical methods and nonlinear optical techniques for studying the fundamental physics of photocatalysis on ultrafast timescales.
